If the semi-trailer uses deteriorated engine oil, it will cause problems such as wear of parts and overheating of the diesel engine. This will cause great damage to the semi-trailer for a long time. So what are the reasons for the deterioration of engine oil? Here are some of my analyses for your reference.

1.Water seeps into the engine oil
When water seeps into the engine oil, it will accelerate the formation of sludge and even cause wear of parts. When the diesel engine has problems such as wet cylinder liner perforation, oil radiator damage, cylinder head damage, cylinder liner water blocking ring damage, cylinder gasket damage, etc., water will enter the engine oil through the damaged position of these parts, causing the engine oil to emulsify and deteriorate. This is one of the reasons for the deterioration of the engine oil.

2.Overheating of the diesel engine
In summer, long-term overload operation of the diesel engine will cause the diesel engine to overheat, causing an increase in water vapor, and then mixed dust will enter the engine oil, causing the engine oil to deteriorate.

3.Mixing diesel engine oil or improper maintenance of the diesel engine
Different models of diesel engines use different engine oils. Due to the different ingredients of each manufacturer in the engine oil, the engine oil will be impure and deteriorate. Improper maintenance of the diesel engine can also cause the semi-trailer engine oil to deteriorate, so the diesel engine should be cleaned regularly to keep it clean, thereby reducing the chance of oil deterioration.

4.Improper use of gasoline engine oil or oil brand in diesel engines
Because the compression ratio of diesel engines is more than twice that of gasoline engines, the use of gasoline engine oil will cause parts damage and corrosion, and eventually cause the oil to deteriorate. Similarly, different models of diesel engines should use matching oils and should not be used indiscriminately, otherwise the oil will deteriorate and deteriorate.

5.Poor crankcase vent or air blockage
When the diesel engine is working, there will always be some local flammable gases and waste entering the crankcase through the gap between the piston ring and the cylinder wall, causing the oil to be diluted, and the acidic substances and water vapor in the waste corrode the parts, causing the oil to oxidize, dilute and coke. When the crankcase vent is poor or air blockage occurs, it will accelerate the oxidation and deterioration of the oil.

There are many reasons for the deterioration of the diesel engine oil of the semi-trailer, most of which are caused by corrosion or damage of parts, which leads to oil deterioration. Knowing the above reasons, everyone should clean and inspect in time and do a good job of maintaining the semi-trailer.
